  1. Patch for CM2 English/Scottish Version

  4. As the Bosman ruling is now reality - this has been used in the game.
  5.  
  6. For those of you who may not know, the Bosman ruling means that for clubs in 
  7. countries from the European Union, foreigners are defined as being from 
  8. countries outside the EU. So this means that a club from a country in the EU 
  9. can field as many players from countries in the EU as they like. It also
  10. means that any player who has reached the end of his contract is free to leave
  11. and can join another club. 
  12.  
  13. This patch will iron out most of the bugs which have been reported to date, 
  14. as well as contain some minor refinements (in particular to the gameplay). 
  15. All transfers and manager changes which have happened since the beginning 
  16. of the season will be included. 
  17.  
  18. Please note that this patch will not be compatible with any of your saved 
  19. games to date due to many fundemental changes to the source code.

  22. We have divided the changes that have been made into the following three

  31. 1. Bug Fixes
  32. ============

  34. 1.1 Having more than ú99Million in the bank will no longer crash the game.
  35.  
  36. 1.2 International teams will name their replacement manager soon, and 
  37. not wait for ages before doing so.
  38.  
  39. 1.3 You will have the chance to be offered an international job.
  40.  
  41. 1.4 You get the chance to say 'Yes' or 'No' to job offers.
  42.  
  43. 1.5 Direct and Long-ball style of play are less effective. There was an 
  44. unfortunate bias towards these styles, resulting in the Premiership becoming 
  45. inundated with crap teams after a few seasons, and weaker teams doing rather 
  46. too well in cup competitions. This means that with the right kind of team you 
  47. will have success using the passing style.

  49. 1.6 There was a bias in the match ratings towards defenders. This had 
  50. side-effects like their values shooting up, and others down.

  52. 1.7 International Suspensions no longer count for friendlies.

  54. 1.8 You can offer a player a new contract while he is still under contract.

  56. 1.9 A large number of minor refinements and bug fixes to make the game 
  57. and gameplay better.

  61. 2. Improvements

  64. 2.1 There are now fewer sackings, there were a bit too many before.

  66. 2.2 The number of goals has been adjusted. There were too many, and some
  67. really silly scorelines. It is now more realistic.

  70. 2.3 If a Player Manager is sacked, he is put on a free transfer.

  72. 2.4 If you join in as a manager of a team which has an existing player manager,
  73. this player manager will be free-transferred

  75. 2.5 Possibility of a manager release clause in a player's contract.

  77. 2.6 More realistic International squads.

  81. 2.8 There is a limit Set Asking Price (to deter those of you who cheat !)

  100. 3.1 There is now a holiday option for managers - this is useful when you 
  101. are playing a multi-player game and one of you cannot play - the holiday 
  102. option means that the computer will take over the running of the club until 
  103. that manager returns.

  105. 3.2 Shortlist facility for International managers.

  107. 3.3 Allowed to SELL players after deadline (i.e. Asprilla).

  109. 3.4 Schoolboys as well as free transfers available. You find your own 
  110. youngsters at the end of the season instead of them being allocated 
  111. automatically to you. This will mean more control over players you wish 
  112. to bring into the team.

  114. 3.5 'No Fee' Parameter in Player Search (for players available free under 
  115. Bosman ruling).

  117. 3.6 Sort by Player Form on Squad Screen - this will look at the player's 
  118. form over his last matches and is in worded form from 'very poor' through 
  119. to 'superb'.

  121. 3.7 Searching by name on Player Search will now work with clubs and countries 
  122. (i.e you can type in club and country names)

  124. 3.8 Shows 3 Star players for all computer managed teams (i.e. all English 
  125. teams as well as foreign teams).

  127. 3.9 International Friendlies now organised at start of season by F.A. 
  128. (i.e. automatically). You can cancel/rearrange these.

  130. 3.10 All transfers will be right up to date - so when you start a new game 
  131. the teams will be as of now and not August.
